Cultus Blue is a mixed team of men and women who train at Cultus Lake in Chilliwack.

We are an inclusive recreational/competitive team that welcomes paddlers of all ages, abilities and levels of fitness. We strive to build each other up through positive reinforcement and encouragement, team building and camaraderie.

While timing, technique and endurance are key elements in the sport of dragon boat racing, the most critical is teamwork.
At any age, it is GREAT to be part of a team!

Cultus Blue trains twice a week (Monday and Wednesday evenings) from mid-March to mid-September. In March and April we start on Sunday mornings until the days get longer. We are coached by an very experienced paddler who has paddled for the Canadian team in world competitions.

Our practices run about 1.5 hours twice a week, and it is a great workout to improve fitness and overall health.

We compete in 5-6 regattas each year, and in 2017 we will be racing at False Creek (two regattas), Harrison, Kamloops, Steveston and Penticton.

Cultus Blue welcomes all new paddlers to come out and give our team a try. No experience is necessary.
We provide the life jackets and paddles, and new folks get to try it out three times for FREE before deciding if they would like to join the team.

Coming up, we will be having two Open Paddle days for new recruits this Spring, dates to be announced.
